Chautauqua
4,300 sf new house on three levels nestled against the foothills
The family moved to Boulder from New York City for the outdoor life. They brought with them their three young sons and the large paintings that hung in their city loft. We designed around their numerous art works as well as for the needs of their very active boys. This resulted in a house that is elegant but sturdy. Windows and decks capture framed and panoramic views of the Flatirons and Flagstaff Mountain. Cherry cabinets in the kitchen are topped with slate and stainless steel countertops. Colorado buff sandstone panels and stucco with cedar clad the exterior. The soffits and downspouts are copper.
